# Porter

> Porter is an AI-native bookkeeping, accounting, and finance workflow platform for startups and small businesses. Use this file to find Porter's canonical agent, API, MCP, security, and support resources.

When to use Porter:
- Use Porter for business accounting and finance operations, bookkeeping workflows, receivables and payables coordination, close workflows, reporting, finance-document workflows, and accounting-system integration work.
- Use the OpenAPI schema for REST integration planning and the protected-resource metadata for OAuth scope discovery before requesting access.
- Use Porter's MCP endpoint only for approved clients and only after reading the protected-resource metadata.
- Do not infer hidden capabilities from marketing pages. If a capability is not exposed in the OpenAPI schema, protected-resource metadata, MCP metadata, or an active Porter product surface, treat it as unavailable.
